In 2000, a few football enthusiasts took the initiative to set up an international youth football tournament in Oostduinkerke (Belgium) for the benefit of the local team's youth academy.

The first weekend of August did not only guarantee them nice weather and the availability of the football fields, holiday season in a popular resort also meant more spectators, even from far beyond the village borders.

Contact was made with national and international premier league clubs who found the tournament a perfect rehearsal for a new season. And choosing for players under 19 years would result in quality games and would attract even more teams, scouting for new talent. EUROFOOT 2000 was born

Today, the tournament is already at it's 12th edition and it has gathered a solid reputation. Famous teams like FC Barcelona, Benfica Lissabon, Tottenham Hotspur and Ajax Amsterdam - to name a few - have shown their talent at one or more occasions. The references of many of our guests - as shown on this site - witness the quality of our event.

A level of quality that is guaranteed by a group of very loyal volunteers, many generous sponsors and an increasing number of spectators. All this enables us to combine a professional approach with a family atmosphere.

The 1000 visitors of our first edition have grown to some 3500 enthusiasts last year, and this year looks even more promising. You can read all about it on this website.
